Amaterasu-Thoughts?

Amaterasu is not as hot as the sun-It was said to be as hot as the sun,that does not make it so.

If something had the actual temperature of the Sun,then it would burn not only those things that it touches,but everything around it. It's a METAPHOR PEOPLE!!

Thoughts?

I feel that it was said in the same way as those who spoke of the Sword of Kusanagi. Said to Cut anything, doesn't cut many things.

I am not saying it's not a great move,it is. I am just wanting to know if people even think it feasable that it could be that hot.

Rock Melts at roughly 600C-1200C and I have never seen Amaterasu melt rock...other than when Itachi used it. Even then,that was a toads stomache.

Doesn't change the fact that I firmly feel that when this was said in the Manga it was because they were hyping it. Not because it actually had that temperature.

It's weird because any fire jutsu that goes unblocked should burn / scar the opponent but it doesn't. Probably just chakra in their bodies protecting them, but only to a certain extent, I guess :shrug:

they are the strongest flames in narutoverse what else do you want?? people will always add methapors to things to make them seem more awesome... it happens in every anime...

+ they can be controlled or put out by some one who poses mangekyo sharingan and can cast amaterasu himself/herself

the attack amaterasu means goddess of the sun . and its in japanese folklore naruto is basically that. and amaterasu is one of the strongest ninjutsu's shown in naruto and only 2 ppl were seen using this technique

okay it isnt as hot as the sun alright. but if its touches you it burns for 7 days it they are the strongest flames in naruto manga/anime

I agree with this but i think its just the plot getting in the way of things, like when Karin was caught by it, must have been on her for a good 5 seconds and she suffered no injury.

If it was as hot as the sun karin would be Dead right now, She was able to Take the black Flames for quite a Few seconds with Nothing But a Little Burn on her back.

Same goes for the samurai, their Armor withstood the black flames for a Few seconds also.
