Why start a Thread, if you only hear what you want to hear?

This hasn't happened recently, this has happened for ages,(before I joined this base) but why do most people who start threads hear what they want to hear, and get mad, when other people have opposing views to them?

You can call this Thread pointless. You can say I will get Flamed, you can say what you like or even say it is a waste of time doing this Thread.

But it is true. Way too many people resort to Insults, when someone doesn't agree with them. What's the point of starting a thread saying this Character will beat this Character, only to get annoyed when someone disagrees. I thought the point of this Base was for a discussion, NOT for anyone to start a thread and they think that everyone has to conform to their opinions.

But when you say "no one wants to discuss" maybe it is because this thread is directed at people like you? *sigh* Explain to me how it is a stupid question, I'll wait, but the answer is most likely because you start threads wanting people to agree with you.

And, he probably means that there is no merit in this thread, you made it to point out something obvious. Then you put it in a discussion forum. What's to discuss?! That's the problem I see with this. There is no basis for a discussion, because if people do disagree, you'll say "You're the type of person this thread was about".

I didn't get annoyed at all. I asked why did he say it was a stupid question, yes I assumed, which was wrong, the same thing you are assuming now when you think I will say to anyone who disagrees "You're the type of person this was about this thread was about". Besides you have explained your reason of what he meant, and thank you for commenting, because you explained your point.
