well here a pill for you all to swollow.

lets say naruto goes rogue?

and he has SM, KM, and BM

hmmm... nows he's on the top 5 list of S ranked Rogue shinobi in all of naruto.

he could say pull off an attack like pain did to konoha, but there would be no "naruto there to save them".

i'm asking why do people feel he's only a chunnin lvl shinobi? or only a jounin lvl?

he's easily high jounin and stronger then all the kages that are alive right now.

-He is actual a Genin. He never passed the first test, and then he left with Jiraiya for 2 years, then came back to the leaf and has been on s-ranked missions since.

-He should be a Jounin like Kakashi, Gai etc. and then a Kage

I some times feel like he is a special Jounin in terms as he is only good at one thing... Kicking ass with 1 tech over and over, all he is, is a brute who to sadly to say is low in every field but ninjutsu(rasengan variations)

Rank doesn't always equal power level. You have to pass the tests to advance in rank. Naruto hasn't passed the chunnin test or the jonin test. So he is still a genin.

Naruto's rank is still a genin. His power levels are easily Kage and above.

It's like Natsu in Dragon Tail, he's pretty much an S-Rank Wizard Saint but his rank is a regular mage.

Or like Ichigo in Bleach, he's pretty much god of the universe stronger than everyone else combined. But he is still "just" a substitute soul reaper.

Like everyone else has said his actual rank is genin but his strength and power levels are kage level at least, more likely higher though.

Shikaku said Naruto is on a whole other level when he mastered SM... ad his new powers to that and in terms of power he is clearly kage lvl, and actually above...
He is a Sage and that is enough for him... it's not a military rank, but come on, do you really think he would need one? After the war, if things go back the way they were (although i doubt it) he will probably be the most feared shinoby, having more of a reputation that his father.
