But he didn't hate him his whole life. He loved him at the beginning, then was consumed with hatred later, followed by realization, grief, and forgiveness.

:sy: He has perfect reasons to team up with him. He found out Itachi was ordered by Konoha to kill the Uchiha clan. It wasn't Itachi that caused it. That could change opinions about people. He also finds out that Itachi was able to kill the ENTIRE clan, but not him, cause he loved him too much. More than the whole village.

hatred is a powerful emotion and when you have a lot of it focused on one person for a long time it is difficult to forgive them

but once you find out the truth behind everything that also changes perspectives. like when sasuke found out that the leaf ordered itachi to kill his clan. sasuke beleived for years itachi just did it becuase but that was not the case
