Very good for the first try
I suggest you smooth out the shading by shade twice or use tissue
There's a couple of ways I'd shade my drawings
Either shade it real dark or shade it real light twice :)
Hope you understand what I'm trying to say lol I'm not good at giving advice :p

Yeh i kind of get it thanks for the advise, I'll try that with my next one :D!

Its pretty good for your first attempt. Reminds me of when i first started off =D. Have you tried shading cubes etc? if you did then you should try shading inanimate objects to get a better sense of things. Might seem silly but these things really help improve your skills.

Yea its pretty hard at first but like anything else, the more you work on it the better you become. You can also rub the shaded region with your fingers or a piece of tissue paper to give it a blending appearance. Works great with colored pencils too. Anywho, in my opinion the best shape to practice shading with is a sphere. Just mess with where you want your light source to be etc. Gah now i feel like drawing T.T i dislike having hw on a friday T.T
