I was surprised, just because I never really spent time thinking about Karin of all people. And "you should have known because of the red hair" is a fairly bad excuse as
Uzumaki = all have red hair *besides naruto even if he is only half*
Not all red hair = Uzumaki
Though my favorite part of this is that Kirin and Sasuke are distantly related now and she
Went head over heals for him, but what worries me is she also had implied similar feelings for naruto upon seeing his chakra *but they are even closer related* not to say she's a inbreeder, just that it's funny that connection can be made

naruto blonde hair but uzumaki confusion-my reasoning

As soon as I read Kabuto say all Uzumaki have red hair I immediately thought about Naruto and that he is blonde. But heres the thing, technically naruto isn't an uzumaki...his last name would actually be whatever his fathers last name is and not his mothers but I'm assuming he was given his mothers last name in an effort to hide the fact that the 4rth hokage was his father so Naruto wouldn't find out about the 9 tails or for whatever reasoning it was kept secret from him anyway...yes of course he is still his mothers son so he is still uzumaki too but maybe its the fathers genes that give them the red hair and they would be called uzumaki because thats their fathers last name too. Notice he inherited his fathers blonde hair and not red. Your all going to say "Well his name has nothing to do with it because he still has his mothers blood, uzumaki blood" but all I trying to say is maybe in order to have the red hair you need the male gene of uzumaki...and the reason why you wouldn't normally see someone by the last name uzumaki with blonde hair is because normally they would only be called an uzumaki if their father was one anyway...see the connection?

No, the red hair is just a trade mark. It doesn't mean everyone with red hair is an Uzumaki. Karin was just an obvious Uzumaki because she can from a unknown clan and her back ground was very foggy. Also to add her healing abilities, massive chakara reserves and her being a insane sensor just added to it. Orochimaru must have known she was a Uzumaki to take her in.
