Kabuto Yakushi... what a cunning sadistic individual. i think now it shows why even Tobi has been reluctant to be aggressive towards Kabuto, he has gained immense knowledge and skills. Orochimaru was a great researcher but in Kabuto he found a student who indeed surpassed him in all aspects. the way some people are reacting makes me laugh... i mean why cant Kabuto be a snake Sage??? kinda reminds me when Genma and the rest of the Bodyguards for the Fifth Hokage (originally for Yondaime) used Flying Thunder Technique to transfer Mizukage to the Madara battlefield. the techniques are there, the means are there but it takes real hard work and geniuses in most cases to achieve exceptional expertise in these techniques.
on another note its worthy noting how Sasuke and Itachi are approaching the battle in different mannerisms. Itachi is still studying Kabuto's techniques while as usual Sasuke just rushes into the fight. ;ets see how it goes but i enjoyed this one

Well I give the chapter 5/5 for the sheer surprise factor.
However, someone is going to have to explain how Kabuto's Sage Mode works since pulling in Nature energy turns you into a frog if uncontrolled ...
Perhaps it has something to do with HOW it's pulled in/used?

It's implied. Kabuto repeatedly says he has the power of nature. I'm not saying each sage mode training is identical, like you say with the chakra balancing and danger of turning to stone. I'm sure there are variations to each sage power (what we will probably see next week), but the fact of the matter is that they are both based on nature chakra.
All I was trying to say was that, at least for me, the introduction of this whole new evil sage mode, another sage training, another place to go train...all of is just too much. When you tell a story and throw a huge curve ball like that you risk losing a bit of credibility.
It just seems...I dunno...a bit too convenient? Hard to explain my reaction I guess.

Well, Pain stated "I see, so you have become a Sage." Once he stated that, I was quite sure there were others. Who said toads were the only summons to have Sage Training?
But yeah, good chap. I like Sasuke a little more now, but he needs to cool down.

Kabuto is officially the strongest sage, taking on 2 of the best uchiha and showing off his moves (dodged sussano arrow = almost impossible).
Is it possible he could absorb too much sage energy and kill himself?

well, it's not frog sage mode, it's snake. Who says they have the same risks/means? Jyraiya's was imperfect and he looked like a toad, while Naruto's perfect form was just his eyes and eyelids changing. Who said Snake Sage Mode was the same? The huge curve is Kishimoto's way of having a story to tell later on...so it fills in the gap. It's meant to do the opposite of lose credibility. Kinda how we didn't know Itachi was forced to kill the Uchiha...he explained it after didnt he? there is no way he is just going to mention it in this chapter and leave it alone

So karin is an Uzimaki after all so Naruto has a living relative to bad she is bad right now. With Kabuto being a creep snake Sage I can see Sasuke and Naruto having to fight together but damn I miss the days when Sage mode and regenerative power was Naruto's thing. I hate this OP Kabuto and the prospect of Sasuke become a Snake sage or Sakura (lol) become a slug sage is too much.
