For me it's mostly that in Tobi's fight with Minato (Correct me if I'm wrong, I read this a while back and I don't feel like checking now haha) he seemed surprised by Minato's powers. Obito knows what Minato can do better than most, so if he was actually Obito that fight would've gone differently, at least with the talk-no-jutsu.

I have been thinking about Kakashi's and Tobi's Time-Space tech...
There is no need for briefing the techs, you all know but anyway,
Kamui-The only known user is Kakashi. And it transports the target to an unknown dimension...
Tobi's S/T tech: Also transports the target to different dimension from where till now nobody escaped.
Both are shown to have a spiraling pattern when used.
My actual theory starts now...

Secret behind Tobi's S/T ninjutsu
I think the secret behind Tobi's S/T ninjutsu is that he creates a hole in other dimension and uses perfect Kamui on himself then enters the dimension from where he again opens a portal through which he comes out wherever he wants.
We all know that kamui is a versatile tech and is wide ranged this explains the appearance of Tobi at desired space.
Tobi said to Kakashi that tech like kamui wont work on him, which leads me to think that Tobi knows in and out of Kamui...
So who has highest chance of having same tech as Kakashi? Well that would be logically obito right? I am NOT entering into that branch of theory as it has been explained over and over by various ppl.
So who the hell is Tobi? My theory
^^ We all know that certain sharingan abilities can be passed down to others like for example Itachi's amaterasu to Sasuke...
I think Tobi is a new character to be introduced in the series, since its not new to introduce new faces, who might be a parent or sibling of Obito..
^^ Tobi can also be most likely an uchiha or Uzumaki since he can use Sharingan and Rinnegan with ease...
Theory on how Tobi lived long..
^^ Now you may ask then how Tobi lived so long if he is from a distant past... I think the unknown dimension slows/freezes time which would explain that question, though its a long stretch or 1st Hokages cells might helped him achieve it partially, its only a theory.. lol...

alright, good ideas but what could be the person's aim? If it's an Uchiha it could be destruction of Konoha(which doesn't make sense) but if its an Uzumaki then what? Is it just a random guy who loves peace?

Its possible..but good theory. I think Tobi is a random dude that we dont know or is Obito. Thats what I think. I have reasons why he is Tobi and why he isnt.

i think tobi is obito. I see some people said that tobi seem old when he fought with minato ,i think he mixed his body with zetsu's body and that why he seem like that.
