What it takes to be considered Kage level

IMO a kage should be able to take out ten jonins with little to medium effort. Also they need to be able to run a village effectively. What is your opinion on what it takes to be a Kage?

to sacrifice your own desires for the village... Thats the main thing.. Then comes strength and strategy..Yes he/she should be quite strong to defend the village.

I don't understand why but a jounin is really high of a rank. most shinobi are chuunin and the ones who are powerful are usually made tokubetsu jounin. a village doesn't have more than 20 jounins at once (actually I don't think there is even 10 in a village at once)
if somebody can take on 3 jounins at once, it proves that he/she is a kage level alright

edit: I just checked that konoha has 12 jonins. including asuma and kurenai

To put your village above anything else.. Your feats.. The ability to literally be able to defend your village yourself.. Running your village effectively... Reputation also helps

Have massive skills, protect the village, make smart decisions, and care somewhat for the villagers. That's what it takes to be a kage in my opinion.

Im gonna say.... to be hokage you need to be ready to put your life on then line for the village at any time and you will need to be strong, wise , and able to make great judgement at the blink of an eye.. you will need the will of fire and you will need to be able to pass it down to the generation that's growing up, you need to be a proud smart leader able to make strategic battle plans,and have the respect from the village and have them follow our wishes with out a question.. someone who's feared by other villages and at the same time the other villages have great respect for them ... ( well i have a lot more to say but i guess this covers it ) .. :scorps:

IMO, to be on Kage level, you have to be able to hold your own or be able to beat a Kage.

10 jounin? Hell, if someone can take down, by themselves, Kakashi, Guy, Asuma and Kurenai at the same time, they'd be put on a god-like level. Might wanna lower your expectations a bit.

10 jounin, seriously? There's only a handful of shinobi in Naruto capable of handling 10 jounin at once.

Anyway I think it simply takes great leadership, smarts, strength, and willingness to put your life on the line for the sake of the village.

My rationale was that if Raikage took on 10,000 ninjas by himself then 10 jonins wouldn't be too much of a stretch. I also considered Kages that had field busting techniques like Gaara's Desert Sand Funeral or Onoki's Dust Release. lol I thought villages had like 100 jonins.

Be able to run a village... I think this is probably the biggest one. The strength to protect the village and all the inhabitants... Yes even the animals and then lastly the "will" to do what it takes for the stuff above...

to become kage level or proven kage level you need to be a kage or proven stronger than a proven kage level shinobi
imo to be kage level you have to be capable of S rank jutsu of any kind , comparable to tsunade or stronger than her , in most cases(aside naruto and choji) you need to be smart too

What? Do you mean Sage Naruto? When you say base naruto, I assume you mean naruto when he just came back to the village or Naruto after just learning Wind Release:rasenshuriken.Until Naruto became a sage, he wasn't even at jonin level.

Sage Mode Naruto is definitely kage level. Kakashi said Naruto(at base) was stronger than him after he beat Kakuzu, plus he's only been getting stronger since.
