[Spoilers] Ivan's identity

I think that Ivan is not a Quincy. I think that he is either a vasto lorde and/or sent by nel to explain the quincy problem.
However I'm not sure but I imagine the people that just declared war are the Quincys and not the VLs.
Thoughts?

The only thing that REALLY threw me off was the fact that the Head Captain was approached so calmly, and it wasn't really all that dramatic....This makes me believe that he knows who those people are however they've never met, I found this really interesting.......

Now to Ivan, first I have to say that when talking pure intellect Quincies are among the most intelligent characters in the series, this leads me to believe they either have learned to obtain more power in the form of spiritual energy or in the form of hollowfication......I say this because I believe that a small group of Quincy are still alive and understand that they can not become relevant/reintegrated without a major boost in power.....I would say that they stayed in the background watching all the events that have occurred and found a way to boost their power.....

So I do believe that Ivan is in-fact a Quincy originally

He's got to be either a Quincy who's undergone hollowfication, or a Hollow who's learned the Quincy ways.

I think the first one would make more sense given the story so far.

The reason I think my idea makes sense is that the hollows and shinigami will have to team up for this fight! And I think that they are goin to ask ichigo to be there liaison to soul society.

Reminder: When humans die the can become Hollows.

There are two theories:
1) Quincy may have powers but they are still human. One theory is they are Quincy who died in the Shinigami-Quincy war. They become Hollows but were able to evolve up the Menos chain until they became Arrancar, at which point they managed to recover their original Quincy powers.

2) Another theory is that they are indeed Quincy but they've learned to cannibalize Hollows and incorporate their reishi into themselves. Remember when Ishida was fighting Mayuri? He was able to break apart the surrounding environment (the buildings, roof tiles, etc) and add them to his own power to make himself stronger. There's no reason why they couldn't do this with Hollow after killing them. In theory they could have learned how to absorb Hollow after killing them and gain an increase in strength. This would also explain why so many Hollow were being exterminated at the beginning of the arc

Of course. In the Naruto section there are plain trolls, idiots and tools.
In the One Piece section there are trolls, Narutards and tools.

He's a Quincy of some kind, with Hollow powers maybe. It's easy to assume that.
Now that he's in a uniform, he must belong to some group or organization.
What's his role, I can't know.
My first guess is that Ivan is sent to declare war to Ichigo and his friends and that other group of ppl to SS.
Ivan seems like a likebable so far. He better not die quick.

One thing ticks me off. Ivan is ofc serious in battle with Ichigo, but within this 3 or 2 chapters we are seeing him he doesn't look as a pure evil being...Is it possible that maybe after this little fight he will join Ichigo..or am I too naive?

Meh, ya never know. It looks like a hefty group went to confront Yamamoto. The fact that Ivan is visiting Ichigo alone could mean that he's a defect from the other Quincy group? Hell, for all we know he could have been testing Ichigo's powers to see if he's stronger enough. Maybe he'll join him after Ichigo proves his strength? Of course this is just from the top of my head. Main point: anything can happen
