well kisame didn't join til after that fight since he joined after itachi got there or somewhere around that time.

Agreed. In regards to your question I have no idea. To little is known, all I know is that Tobi has to be someone that is not a legend in the ninja world, why? Well if he were a legend why use someone elses' name unless your merits aren't going to instill fear upon your enemies and you need to pretend to be someone else to feel like a B-A

I dunno. its hard to tell without the facial expressions, but when I read the dialog he and minato have, it almost feels like he's intrigued by the idea that minato is implicitly suggesting. like, the way I parse the word phrasing in my head.

kisame people, DreamShark is right. The entire akatsuki organization, from when nagato and konan and whats-his-face made it to the current day, can't be much older than 20 years (a pretty generous guess, I think). and its clearly well into the "criminal organization " part of its history as opposed to its "revolutionary group" era when kisame joins. thats definately going to put kisame's recruitment after naruto's birth.
