[Debate] Does God exist?

I figured that the general discussion forum was the right place for this. I'm a believer that there is a God, particularly, the Judeo-Christian God. I know that a lot of you guys on nb either don't believe in God or are unsure about God. I'd be happy to answer questions about God or have a discussion as to the specifics of the existence of God. I don't know all the answers, but I've done a lot of research, reading, taken classes, and have been changed by God. Just want to get a good discussion going about it.

It all depends on a person,s life an religion.

A homeless person could see a rich person that sells drugs, and say "why god"...later on he would say.......... "there is no god"

all jokes aside if people could just stay respectful of others opinions these kinda threads wouldnt be closed. and it doesnt help to be pessimistic about it.

its usually the athiests who results these threads to closing actually now that i think about it. you guys dont want to be told what to think or to believe but are quick insult and attack religioius people and act all high and mighty.

so just keep it mature people

I agree. For that reason, lets also be respectful of atheists and their freedom to their own belief. At least they stand for something. Its better than someone claiming to be a christian but not acting christ-like.

Nobody can say for sure if their belief of the afterlife is true or false as there is no physical proof aside from books and ancient text on scrolls. I personally believe in a God and Heaven, because I like the thought of rejoining my loved ones after I die in a peaceful environment without hatred for anyone. My wife on the other hand believes in a Goddess (Mother Earth) and a God, and that we will all be reborn. I personally want to believe that I will stay with her in the afterlife as her husband, but in her religion I could end up a friend or family member.
