Square border:Result:
- Create new layer over the avy.
- Select all
- Select- border- 1px-ok
- choose the color, then select brush, color the selection.

Square border inside the avy:Result:
- Create new layer over the avy.
- Select all
- Select- shrink-1px- ok
- Select- border- 1px-ok
- choose the color, then a take brush to color the selection.

Round border inside the square avy:Result:
- New layer.
- Select rectangle from tool box-tick the rounded rectangle box.
- Now draw a box- then enter the desired dimension in the tool box-hit enter.
- Select-border- 1px-ok
- choose color- color the select.
Note: This is useless IMO.You must be registered for see images
Round edge with border:Result:
- Create a new layer(1) below the avy- fill it with black/white...
- create New layer(2) above the avy.
- Select-all.
- Select- rounded rectangle-50%-ok
- Select-invert- erase off desired edges in all layers of the avy. O_O
- Select the last layer(black) with fuzzy select tool(magic wand thingy).
- Select- border- 1px- ok.
- Choose color- color the border on the top most layer(2).

Dashed border:
Note:
- Create new layer(1) above the avy.
- Add 1px border as mentioned above, i'll be using white colour border.
- Create another layer(2) above (1).
- Select all.
- Edit- stroke selection- stoke line-1px line width-solid line- line style- dense dots- stroke (i used red color).
Results:
- You can also use long dash and dash dots as your line style, Actually i perfer these three styles over others.
- The colors on layer(1) and layer(2) varies with the colour scheme of your avy.
