So I've been reading past chapters today, and came across something that I always thought was weird but forgot about until now. When Tsunade asks Mabui to use the Teleport Transfer Technique to send her and Raikage to Edo Madara's battlefield instantly, Shikaku says why don't you use the Flying Thunder God tech instead. Tsuande responds by saying that "Madara is still an Uchiha...We need a way to defeat his fire techniques...We'll save the Flying Thunder God Technique formhim".

Now who the hell is HIM. I can't think of a single person that she can be talking about. It would seem she is talking about someone with water techniques since that beats fire, but I don't know. The only other think I can think of if it is a blatant mistranslation and it meant to say HER, which would obviously then mean she if talking about the Mizukage, since they did use FTG on her. But I don't see how the translators messed up him and her, it's completely different words.

Yeah last I heard it was a miss translation and they meant to say "her" referring to the Mizukage.

Even if it wasnt a mistranslation, it wouldnt be the most mind racking ting Kishi has pulled over us, considering this entire flipping series we've had to put up with all the "that jutsu" and all the "I shouldnt use IT" and blah blah blah

Yeah but Naruto's clone is already AT the battlefield, and they told him to go away anyway that they will fight Madara. Plus she was obviously talking about someone with powerful water techniques since she was talking about needing someone to stop Madara's Fire techs. Obviously the MIZUkage would have powerful water techs, so they could have ment Mei, or whatever her name is, who they did use it on. Just seems weird that they made such a simple mistranslation.

im sure it was suppose to be her (mei) since thats who they used it on. only makes sense. that line would have been completely out of context if she was talking about naruto

(a quick plug)

since we are on the subject i have a thread about "why do ppl feel like naruto needs ftg????" check it out :) lol

I remember it was a translation error. She meant "her" as in Mei.

IF it wasn't mistranslation, perhaps she meant something along the lines of Minato teleporting the Tailed beast bomb out of range of Konoha.

I tend to think it was a mistranlation though. It'd make more sense.

I took a look at the Japanese script for it and Kishi used the pronoun 'ai' which is likely short for 'aitsu' which can be translated as either he or her. Pairing that with the fact that the Mizukage was transported right after that, I would say that Tsunade was saying her.

Awesome work...been thinking it was something like that. I remember in a previous post someone posting the translation for aitsu being him/her, so I figured it might have been them just picking one of the other when translating it.
