Ok, so I'm about to write a theory/explanation on the entire story of what has happened in Naruto so far. This is gonna spand from the Sage of 6 paths creating ninjutsu all the way to the present day. It's also going to revel theories on who Tobi is etc, etc. So if you're feeling lazy or not bothered to read much you might wanna f*ck off right about now. Right, lets get started

The Sage of 6 paths
Centuries before the beginning of the series, the Sage of 6 paths was a priest who appeared long ago in an age of endless war. The Sage travelled throughout the world, spreading his ideas and religion, the Shinobi Sect (忍宗, Ninshū), which eventually came to be known as ninjutsu.
The Sage used his abilities in order to defeat the Juubi (10 tails). In order to protect the world from the Ten-Tails, the Sage developed a technique to seal the beast within himself, allowing him control its terrifying power, and making himself the first jinchūriki. Although he had successfully sealed the Ten-Tails, its power was so great that the seal would break after the Sage's death.
Aware of this, the Sage used his ability known as Creation of All Things (万物創造, Banbutsu Sōzō) to divide the Ten-Tails' chakra into nine parts, which would become known as the tailed beasts.

He then used Chibaku Tensei to seal the Ten-Tails' body inside a gigantic stone prison in the sky, thus creating the moon.
The Sage's time was coming to an end. The older son, who had inherited the Sage's "eyes" (his powerful chakra and spiritual energy), believed that power was the true key to peace. The younger son, who inherited the Sage's "body" (his powerful will and physical energy), believed that love was the true key to peace. On his deathbed, the Sage chose his younger son to be his successor. Overcome by bitterness and envy, the older son attacked the younger, beginning a war between them. Their feud would continue on through their descendants: the Senju clan and the Uchiha clan.

Now, this arises many questions. Why would the sage leave the tablet when it was made only for those with dojutsu (namely descendants of the Uchiha ancestor)? Is it possible the elder son was the one who created the tablet?????

Creation of all things:
The Sage used Yin chakra to create shape and form from nothingness. Then through the physical energy which forms the basis of Yang chakra, he would breathe life into the prior form. The sage used this ability to split the Ten-Tails into nine tailed beasts. It is also said that the technique Izanagi is based on this technique.

Juubi Theory
The Juubi is created by combining the 9 tails, with the 10 tails appearance looking like this when it fought the So6p:

Notice how it's a combination of the sharingan and the Rinnegan. Could the sage have only gained his Rinnegan after becoming the Juubi jinchiriki? Is this the reason the elder son doesn't have a complete Rinnegan design? Was he unable to inherit the Sage's full power?
Moving on to the Juubi itself, The 10 tails was a mass of pure evil chakra that was defeated by the Sage of 6 paths and was subsequently sealed inside of his body, thus making him the first Jinchiriki. Anyway, what i'm proposing is that this is not the 10 tails true form. In chapter 572, the sage describes how the beasts will one day become one:
However, he also explains how they will exist in different forms and that they will be lead down the right path, unlike when they were within him:
This has lead me to assume that perhaps the Juubi has a pure, true form that can only be achieved once the tailed beast have been lead down this right path (presumably by Naruto). I believe that this manifestation of the Juubi (the black one) is imperfect because it has been corrupted by darkness and hate. The tailed beasts, although seperated from their Juubi form, still had (I believe) segments of dark evil from the 10 tails deep inside of them that the sage was unable to simply 'remove'. Remember the Kyuubi being described as a mass of hatred? I think this eveil built up over time whilst the sage was dead and the beasts were captured and used as pawns in various political battles between countries.
We can assume that the sage had a purpose for the beasts, But definately did not want them to lead lives of hate. Uchiha and Senju rivalry; The beginning
Hashirama was originally the leader of the Senju clan. Under his leadership the Senju clan came to be regarded as one of the two most powerful clans in the world, rivalling the renowned battle-oriented Uchiha clan, who's leader was Madara Uchiha. Because of this, when someone hired the Senju clan, the opposing side would hire the Uchiha clan and vice-versa, causing frequent battles between the two. Eventually growing tired of the constant fighting, Hashirama and his clan approached the Uchiha and offered a truce with them. Allied with Madara and his clan, the two groups founded Konohagakure.

Madara's true Intentions
After Hashirama was voted as the 1st Hokage, Madara flew into a rage. He believed the Senju would opress the Uchiha, eventually leading to the extermination of his beloved clan (which unfortunately came to pass....). He needed power.
Eighty years prior to the start of the series, Izuna and his older brother Madara were said to be equals as the most gifted members of the Uchiha clan.
This is a very important point that some people often forget; Izuna was equal to MS Madara, making him a very powerful shinobi. The Mangekyo Sharingan meant he would've been able to use techniques such as Susanoo and Amaterasu. This will be of importance later on in the thread.
When Madara eventually went blind, he took Izuna's eyes to regain his sight.
Now, Itachi Uchiha suggested that his eyes had been taken by force; However, Tobi insisted that Izuna had willingly given up his eyes for the good of his brother and the whole clan, seeing that Madara needed to remain strong to protect the clan from its growing number of enemies.
However, notice in the manga how Tobi reacts when he explains the eyes were given willingly:
He clenches his arms which suggests that perhaps Itachi was telling the truth and Tobi was lying.....Anyhow, we are then led to believe that Izuna later died in battle:

When Madara laid eyes on the So6P tablet (which the Sage had left secrets of how to obtain power etc) he saw what others couldn't due to his highly evolved EMS (which he'd obtained by taking his brothers eyes). Madara found out about the Sage and the Juubi through the tablet and devised a plan to obtain the power of the SO6P who was seen as a God (Rinnegan/Juubi). He had found out how to obtain the Rinnegan.
Madara left the village, and sought out Kurama. He later returned in order to challenge Hashirama in battle. They fought at the site that would eventually be called the Valley of the End, where Madara was beaten, despite having Kurama at his side.
With Madara presumed dead, Hashirama returned to the village. However, Madara had succeded; he'd taken some of Hashirama's DNA. After the battle with Hasirama, he achieved Rinnegan by combining his Uchiha DNA with Senju DNA.
He later died in one of the many raging wars at that time, but not before passing on the title of Hokage to his brother, Tobirama Senju.

Who is Tobi?
Now there are many Tobi theories, but with what we know so far, I believe there to be only two which really make sense.
We know;
- It can't be Obito as it doesn't fit the timeline (13 or so yr old Obito fighting Minato? Please........). Also, Obito had the Senju's 'Will of fire' which goes totally against Tobi's plan/personality.
- It can't be Shisui because he too had the will of fire. Also he was around the same age as Itachi and Itachi was just a child the night Naruto was born:
- It can't be Madara because he's been revived via Edo Tensei.
- No info is known about Kagami Uchiha.
- Fugaku Uchiha is a suspicious character but his particular character/personality/abilities doesn't suggest he could be Tobi.
Theory 1: Tobi is Izuna
Theory 2: Tobi is a zetsu clone
Consider what we know about Zetsu:
- He has plant like qualities (Similar to Hashirama's abilities)
-He can be replicated easily:
-We can conclude that Zetsu is made up of Hashirama's DNA:
Now, I believe after the Valley of the end fight, Madara was seriosuly injured and was close to death. Using some of the left over Hashirama DNA, he created Zetsu. Unfortunately, Zetsu was nowhere near the level of power with Hashirama possessed. However, Madara learned of some interesting Zetsu abilities, most notably this one:
Zetsu used this ability to become a clone of Madara: He became Tobi. This would explain why Tobi is able to combine with zetsu so easily:
This could explain why Tobi just claims to be no-one and seems so commited to Madara's original plan:
It could also explain why Tobi says he's a shadow of his former self......The Zetsu clone was never going to be as strong as the original Madara and also this was around 70 years ago; the clone (Tobi) may've weakened considerably over time.
Zetsu cannot copy other Shinobi's KKG, which could explain why he was unable to initally take Madara's Rinnegan; he needed a way of getting around this problem. Alternatively, Tobi was initially unable to use the Rinnegan due to the amount of chakra it sucked; he probably could only use a normal sharingan/byakugan. Luckily for Tobi, he was going to be able to get his hands on many sharingan.........His main aim however was completing Madara's will; finding a new host for his Rinnegan, reviving him and completing Moons eye plan.

Theory 1: Tobi is Izuna
Now, this is a very controversial idea, however I know that there are alot of people on Narutobase who feel that this could be the case. Izuna was said to be born with exceptionally strong chakra, even for an Uchiha member. It's Possible that he could've faked his own death in order to trick people into believing he couldn't be Tobi. Madara could've probably lent him some of Hashirama's DNA which could explain why Tobi has survived for so long (why he is just a 'shell' of his former self) and why he can rebuild body parts using white Zetsu (who is also made up of Hashirama DNA)
This could explain why Tobi can handle the Rinnegan, which uses excessive amounts of chakra. Also, consider the possibility that Tobi is going to betray Madara's original plan. I sense in the Manga he has been acting quite irratically and impatiently. He may be tired of being Madara's 'sidekick' and may be ready to seize power himself. It links in with the Idea that Izuna might be fed up of following his brother's orders, which would've been along the lines of "get Nagato to use Rinne Tensei and revive me at a later date".
Some people may say 'why didn't Tobi just use the Rinnegan in the first place; why use Nagato?' Well, it may be that Madara knew entrusting the Rinnegan directly to Tobi would've meant Tobi would be stronger than him and thus Madara would lose a degree of control over him. Tobi only took the rinnegan after Nagato had died (after betraying him and using Rinne Tensei on the leaf when it was supposed to be for Tobi's purposes); He never thought Nagato/Pain could be beaten by any shinobi at the present time.
Tobi's one goal seems to be the completion of Madara's Moon's eye plan; this could be Izuna showing his commitment to Madara's cause (well he's pretty committed to his brother considering he willingly sacriced his eyes). Interestingly, whilst Madara was rivalled by Hashirama, have you ever considered Izuna was rivalled by Tobirama? This could lead to why he calls himself 'Tobi' and uses S/T jutsu (something the second hokage was famous for). Coincidence? Could the 2 older brothers and the 2 younger brothers all be rivals? Even though they were enemies there is always a high degree of respect between opponents, possibly why Izuna named himself Tobi, after Tobirama Senju. :shrug:

Nagato's Rinnegan
Tobi and Madara needed a new host for the Rinnegan. This person needed to have high chakra because the rinnegan uses up so much of it. Nagato was an Uzumaki who were famed for their incredible longevity and vitality seemingly inherited from their Senju ancestry.
Nagato was not affiliated with Konoha, meaning he was part of the 'smaller, wartorn countries' that always suffered at the expense of bigger ones, like Konoha. This would allow him to grow his hatred for the rest of the shinobi world. Luckily enough, Nagato's country, Uzushiogakure was destroyed during the 2nd great Shinobi war, which made Nagato an easy target.
Nagato would've been easily persuaded and I would even bet that Tobi had something to do with those Konoha ninja's killing Nagato's parents. This psychologically damaged him and I'll go even further to suggest that Tobi was the one who made hanzou demand Yahiko's death, screwing up Nagato even more:
'Nagato was a sensitive, kind boy, prone to crying, and was traumatised by the idea of killing others, even if it was to save his friend Yahiko. Scared and unsure of his place in the world, he desired to help those he cared about, but never knew how.'

The Birth of Naruto and The death of the 4th Hokage
This is a very significant event in the Narutoverse. As we all know this story, I'll keep it relatively short (lol).
Because Kushina was the jinchūriki of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, special arrangements had to be made for Naruto's birth. Since the seal keeping the Nine-Tails within her would weaken during childbirth, Naruto would be secretly delivered in a remote location outside Konoha with the ANBU guarding the area. Soon after Naruto was born they were found by Tobi who had killed the ANBU stationed outside and infiltrated the cave. Minato was able to take Naruto back, but this gave Tobi the chance to escape with Kushina. Minato found a safe place to put Naruto and then teleported to Kushina. He arrived in time to stop the Nine-Tails — having been removed from her body — from killing her, and teleported back to Naruto. Minato reunited mother and son and then went to help defend Konoha from the Nine-Tails:

He summoned Gamabunta to distract the Nine-Tails long enough to teleport it away from the village to Naruto and Kushina's location. Kushina restrained it. Despite knowing that the trauma of resealing the Nine-Tails in her weakened body would kill her, she volunteered to do it so the Nine-Tails would die with her. Minato however disagreed, and instead decided that he would use the Dead Demon Consuming Seal on the Nine-Tails to weaken it and then seal the rest into Naruto, thus resulting in Naruto become the ninetails jinchiriki:
What's interesting to note is that the Uchiha clan was missing during the Kyuubi's attack on Konoha.

The Uchiha Clan Massacre
Following the Nine-Tails' attack on Konoha orchestrated by Tobi, Konoha's leadership began to suspect that an Uchiha was behind the attack because of the Sharingan's ability to control the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox:
In order to keep an eye on the Uchiha, Tobi claimed they were forced to live in a corner of the village and kept under surveillance, creating dissent within the clan. When members of the clan began planning a coup d'état, they tasked Itachi Uchiha with spying on Konoha from within the ANBU. However, Itachi's pacifistic nature led him to become a double agent, instead providing Konoha with information on the Uchiha. He knew that if the suppressed, but powerful, Uchiha were to attack Konoha, the resulting civil war would weaken the village in all aspects. This sign of weakness would entice other countries to take advantage and invade Konoha, with the conflict eventually escalating into another Shinobi World War.
The Uchiha clan, however, was not completely blind towards Itachi's double-agent status. They began to suspect him, several months after Itachi had joined the ANBU, due to his change in behaviour. They ordered Shisui Uchiha, Itachi's closest friend, to keep an eye on him, however Shisui later turned up dead, seemingly committing suicide by drowning.
In one night, Itachi, with Tobi's help, killed every member of the Uchiha clan, killing his own parents last. Sasuke, returned that night late from his own training to find Uchiha corpses littering the streets. Realising what had happened, Sasuke tried to run away. Itachi stopped him and told him he was not worth killing, instead encouraging him to get strong enough to take revenge, even though Sasuke later remembered they had a small fight, which activated Sasuke's Sharingan for the first time, and ended with Sasuke losing and Itachi defecting from the village with tears in his eyes.
Sasuke had now inherited the Uchiha's curse of hatred, an event which had huge repacutions for shinobi's everywhere.

Present Theories
Shisui Uchiha and the mysteries surrounding him:
Abilities:
- He was known as Shisui of the body flicker and was well known for his teleporting abilities.
- He was one of the strongest genjutsu users in the whole of the Uchiha clan's vast history.
- His greatest technique was kotoamatsukami which allowed him to control people without them even knowing. It was seen as a genjutsu of the highest calibre.
We also know that Shisui had Konoha's 'will of fire' - one of few Uchihas (along with Itachi & Obito) to possess this and not the 'curse of hatred' passed down by the sage's first son. What I think is important about this is that it rules out him in anyway being Tobi; Shisui is everything that a good ninja is supposed to be. However, following this manga, you just never know what could happen....
Now to the theory about what happened with him
I believed Shisui was killed by Itachi. Shisui was the one who taught Itachi about sacrifice and I believe he used Kotoamatsukami on Itachi, thus making Itachi responsible for his death. I believe this lead to Itachi gaining the Mangekyo Sharingan:
There is also some mystery around why Shisui gave Danzo his other Mangekyo. Shisui was a member of the ANBU root division and we've seen the levels of obedience people in this division have for the superiors. This may explain why he willingly gave up his MS.
Abilities:
- He was known as Shisui of the body flicker and was well known for his teleporting abilities.
- He was one of the strongest genjutsu users in the whole of the Uchiha clan's vast history.
- His greatest technique was kotoamatsukami which allowed him to control people without them even knowing. It was seen as a genjutsu of the highest calibre.
We also know that Shisui had Konoha's 'will of fire' - one of few Uchihas (along with Itachi & Obito) to possess this and not the 'curse of hatred' passed down by the sage's first son. What I think is important about this is that it rules out him in anyway being Tobi; Shisui is everything that a good ninja is supposed to be. However, following this manga, you just never know what could happen....
Now to the theory about what happened with him
I believed Shisui was killed by Itachi. Shisui was the one who taught Itachi about sacrifice and I believe he used Kotoamatsukami on Itachi, thus making Itachi responsible for his death. I believe this lead to Itachi gaining the Mangekyo Sharingan:

Why Sasuke will get the Rinnegan:

Tobi says he's planning on syncing Sasuke to Gedo Mazo. Gedo Mazo is a summoning of someone who possesses the Rinnegan and so, going by this, it's only logical to conclude that Tobi is planning on giving Sasuke the Rinnegan directly or a means for him to successfully unlock it.
Tobi also says 'Sasuke is no use if he can't be controlled', this also leads me to believe that Tobi plans on using Sasuke in some way with Gedo Mazo.

The Juubi Jinchiriki Theory
Considering that Tobi does plan on somehow syncing Sasuke to Gedo Mazo, does this mean he's planning on Sasuke to become the 10tails jinchiriki and complete the infinite Tsukuyomi? Far-fetched I know, but could this be the ultimate climax to the shippuden series? BM naruto (with the power/chakra of the 9 beasts) verses 10 tails Sasuke (with the pure evil chakra)?
The only other Jinchiriki of the 10tails was the Sage; he had the Rinnegan. This could mean Sasuke needs to obtain it too. Because, even though I think this is unlikely, I doubt whether Tobi is his current form/body can handle the power/stress of becoming the 10tails Jinchiriki. Unless he somehow finds a way to revitalise his body, I can see Edo Madara or Sasuke becoming the Jinchiriki.
The Naruto Powerup Theory
So, as we all know Sasuke has only just received his EMS and so it's fairly early to suggest that it won't be enough to face Naruto. However, consider how effective Madara's EMS was:
An extremely powerful dojutsu and yet Madara would've been fairly easily defeated by that wind rasen-shuriken if it wasn't for him switching to Rinnegan and using preta path's abilities. Not only was this Just a Naruto clone it wasn't a Bijuu Mode Naruto. How on earth could Sasuke matchup to Naruto who can hold off 5 tailed beasts at once?
Once he started using his Rinnegan, Madara became considerably more powerful:
Let's be realistic - this is the level an OP BM Naruto is truely on atm. His EMS can't realistically match up to it:
Sasuke's EMS may end up truley OP but then consider, would this be realistic to the storyline? No Mangekyo Sharingan technique can realistically allow Sasuke to defeat BM Naruto (TBB would blow away Susanoo, not to mention the lack of speed Sasuke would have whilst using this technique, and the amount of chakra it would drain). So, I believe, EMS was only enough to match Kyuubi Modde Naruto: Sasuke is going to need another powerup in order to match Naruto: He's going to need the Rinnegan.
This isn't me suggesting Sasuke's EMS is weak; I know nothing about it's abilities! But what abilities, realistic to the storyline (and comparing it to the strength of Madara Uchiha's EMS, respected as the strongest of all the Uchihas), can honestly defeat BM Naruto? None.
I believe Sasuke is going to have to obtain the Rinnegan in order for the story to progress and in order for him to fight Naruto as equals. I don't actually like the idea of him getting it but I can see Kishimoto giving it to him in.
