The point of this thread is to answer this question: how? Yes,this is narutoverse. Most of us have been reading the manga for at least a decade, so I hope we can come with something interesting. Was ninjutsu, genjutsu? Kakashi would have notice it if it was genjutsu. Free your minds and bring interesting theories.
As for Fukasaku, summon (see Sasuke vs Itachi),genjutsu (illusions, you thought he had nothing but his coat, but...) Ormaybe just a mistake Kishi made. But as fans we can cover his back.

MAYYYYYYYYBE...... the cloak had a pouch on the inside whit smoke bombs and for karin my guess is she had a tiny scroll and used it to store and summon the picture kinda like how tenten summons weapons ohhhh ya best answer i win :izuna:
