Madara used meteor & Absorption which is another Rinnegan skill.
Be quiet, you don't know what ur talking about. The Kage will put Madara through his paces. This isn't simply a fight when each side shows their full strength,this fight will be won through sheer tactical brilliance.

Can those of you who think that the Kage's aren't showing much battle strength please use your brains.
Strength will not beat Madara!!!! HE is immortal and will simply come back.
No matter how strong a technique they launch,they can only keep him down a few seconds or counter one of his big moves-That though, would be dumb and waste chakra,it's better to dodge.
They need to save chakra and wait for a chance to seal Madara. Brute force will not work in this fight. If Gaara were able to simply win through Brute-force against others,he would have. But it's about incapacitating them and then trying to seal the enemy....

Okay name one thing Tsunade has done to really contribute to the Madara battle except heal (maybe), but it was an exaggeration though in all honesty id probably give her a C+

The battle between 5 kages and madara were only just the beginning although on the latest chapter Madara seemed invincible. Lets just see on the next chapters to come if the 5 kages can equalize madara's strength.

So in all honesty your strongest defence is she healed them, if her only point was healing might as well get a platoon of healers n heal the kages then? the least she could've done as a support medic ninja was try to prevent the poison from getting to them or atleast warn them about its affect rather than saying "its my grandfathers!"

She's the strongest medical ninja of all time yet the moment it got to her she just fell down to the ground unconcious- You could atleast understand if its A a taijutsu ninja -_-

Well I guess it doesn't hurt to state again:

The Kages are doing just fine against the immortal-unlimited-chakra-rinnegan-Madarama. Are they better than their predecessors? Some are. Some aren't. They each have their own strengths that can be used effectively in a team:

Onoki - Mid-Long-range attacks, high evasivness, strong defense, arguably the best ninjutsu of the group due to jinton

Mei - Mid-range attacks, lava release and the like are great as a support for the front line

A - Short-range attacks, fastest on the team, brute force of attacks are devastating once he gets in close

Gaara - Mid-Long-range attacks, very useful for mobility, arguably best defense of the group

Tsunade - Short-Mid-range attacks, Medical ninjutsu vital in battle against immortal, regeneration techinque keeps her from dying (unless beheaded), summon can also be useful with its own Mid-Long-range attacks, brute force of attacks are devastating (however, she is in a support role for this battle - for now at least)

So as I was saying - they have not failed yet. They fail when they all die. And if one or more of them die in the process of bringing Madara down, I still don't see it as a fail, but rather an honorable sacrifice.

Also, we haven't seen any the kage's real abilities yet.

Mei for instance hasn't even used one of kekkei genkai, boil release. Like was said earlier on, they have all been on the defensive so far, the most offense on the kage side has been Onoki in the latest chapter and that, as acknowledged by Madara, was pretty good.

Tsunade has never been much of fighter, but then again, most medical ninjas aren't, she has always been support. Now, I seriously doubt any of the former Hokages could have done what Tsunade has done, seeing as all the previous hokage have been offensive types. Tsunade is badass in her own right even if her offensive capabilities can't keep up with those of the previous Hokage.

Now, to keep the post from getting any longer, I'm gonna end it.

It's not like they've been sitting around picking their noses waiting for Hashidara/Madarama to show up; they've been in battles or using medical-nin, thus expending their chakra. They aren't at 100% like the unnatural edo they are battling. They are also in a fight with something that has never been faced before. They are holding their own and I'm sure their combined experience will come up with something to get on the offensive. Don't sell them short.
