I admit that the recent episodes have been really epic, but has also made me reflect on older fights where characters used to earn victories (except naruto's kurama-aided victories) with believable strategies and even sacrifices, staking their lives for a mission. Remember chuunin exam arc and retrieve sasuke arc? Now all I see is sudden powerups and a lot of OP bull crap. I fear from here on out, its going to go downhill, as kishi will struggle to outdo one OP over another to the point it will become repetitive and unconvincing. Prepare for big jump the shark moments. I shudder to think what over the top stuff he has planned for Sasuke, looking at his unoriginal susanoo and throwing frisbees at zetsu crash dummies made me wince. Shouldnt kishi have taken a little easy on trying to level the playing field by giving huge power ups to the two?

I know Kishi is damn creative and has kept us entertained for over a decade, and I am hopeful sure he will come through, but I really hope he gives us some believable developments tomorrow.

Yeah, but his sage mode requires him to be absolutely still. He has yet to win a battle solely on sage mode.

Part 2 started out great... With fights like Sasuke vs. Deidara and Chiyo + Sakura vs. Sasori etc. But ever since the Pein vs. Naruto fight, things have just been blown way out of proportion and it is starting to remind me of DBZ.

How would he have fought against the tailed beasts with sage mode? there are plenty of fights ahead wherewithout kurama, he will not be of much use.

Bornfree really does have a point, when a battle just turns into MEGA-RAPE RASENGAN vs ULTIMATE-INVASION CHIDORI it gets boring for real, but Kishi still has time to reverse the path naruto seems to be going down. Sasuke vs. Deidara was one of my favorite shippuden fights, not because of super powered explosive moves but because of the unpredictability and style and thats what i want again
