heh... well in long, looooooong run they are in the least bit related. this might have been post 10 billion times already but it's just become apparent to me. the just a lil bit of history for everybody...
the sages eldest son: He inherited the Sage's "eyes", his powerful chakra and spiritual energy. He believed that force and strength were the key to peace.(sasuke)

the sages youngest son: He inherited the Sage's "body", willpower and physical energy and believed that love was the key to peace (naruto)

the eldest son inherited "the curse of hatred" (sasuke)
the youngest inherited " the sages will power" (naruto)

the eldest also had long hair and was born first, and the youngest wore short spiked hair and his forehead protector.
