now ive been wondering, what if danzo used KA on sasuke doing their fight? we know danzo's KA recovery time is much much shorter than shisui's, but its never revealed how much shorter

what im thinking is danzo's KA recovered much sooner than we were led to believe.

i think this is how it went: sometime during their fight, danzo's KA recovered. upon this, this is when he decided to spam izanagi. he figured, even he loses izanagi, he still has KA for tobi. however, what he didnt plan for was sasuke succeeding in wounding him with his sword during their clash. i think danzo knew he was gonna die, so being the sly dog he is, he concocted a plan. when he grabbed karin, he planned to use KA on sasuke, manipulating sasuke on stabbing them both. now, at this point, he had two scenarios:

1. after dying, tobi and sasuke would come to investigate his body. due to him being dead, or near dead at least, his jutsu would activate and drag tobi, sasuke and karin within his corpse. he wanted karin in his corpse as well so she couldnt relay any info on what happened there, since danzo is so secretive

2. this scenario was in case his corpse-sealing plan failed. he figured, after sasuke killed him and karin, sasuke's medic would be gone. that would make it a lot easier for back-up ninja to finish sasuke. after all, danzo knew the others would be coming after him, if they tracked him down, they would find sasuke and want to attack him and with is medic gone, sasuke would be good as dead. he also figured since tobi is selfish, he would teleport away and leave sasuke to his fate

maybe he did, maybe it was like one genjutsu that did multiple things. who knows?

Actually, we don´t know if it is shorter in terms of recovery. Shisui himself is a big unknown - why does he had a different mangekyou skill etc. The eyes themselves may have recovery time of 10 years, but we don´t know anything about him.

Why would he use KA on Sasuke in this way? It is a lot easier to leave a message along these lines: "Kill every person on this bridge and then kill yourself" or "Protect me with your life, from here onwards". I don´t see why would he what you described, sorry Unless there is a condition we don´t know about. But with present information, I still believe that his "Reverse four symbols seal" (I don´t remember the name correctly ), was a desperation move.

also, he was looking at the bigger picture. in both of his plans i listed, tobi and sasuke would have died, or at least sasuke. thats better than what you listed since karin was gonna die anyway, tobi would have just warped away and then KA would be wasted.

It would be Tobi vs Sasuke, who would fight to death ("Guard me with your life on the line"). There would be a time window for him to run away, as he wanted to survive (I cannot die here!). Also, "Kill Karin, Tobi and then commit suicide" is a good option. This get you rid of everyone.

It gives the chance to run away and tell Konoha what the heck happened, who is the leader of Akatsuki etc. There was a chance of killing all of them with his KA, but he didn´t know whether to use it as an Izanagi and run away or KA for Tobi (aka kill Sasuke and Karin?).

I think that when he was stabbed into his heart, he lost his chance of KA. Chakra network was disrupted and then he know he truly lost, so he tried to kill them with a seal prepared beforehand on his body as a desperation attempt/move.
