The Spanish rookie sensation vs the unsung Asian backup.

Who's the better point guard?

Lin is more of a scorer whereas Ricky is an inherent point guard. He is, in my humble opinion, the better player in that position mainly because he actually fits the description of said category.

Yes, but as an overall player? Which is better?

Well, the question was "Who's the better point guard?". The only way to answer your current inquiry is by waiting, for we haven't seen enough of them both to determine an indisputable victor.

Hmm, suppose so. Though these past few games have been rather exciting to watch.

We cant really tell who exactly is the better point guard just yet. Obviously Linsanity just blew up but i think he will cool off soon. In the long run thou, i think rubio will be the better point guard.

I liked underdog lin much more. He is too overhyped now, just like Blake Griffin.

Lets let these guys play some games before we start deciding who's better. Lin's only had 8 games that he actually got significant playing time, so its still way too early to tell how good he can be.

Lin definitely has the potential to be great. He showed his ability to create and distribute in that last game where he had 13 assists. But I think the best thing he's shown is the ability to hit shots in the clutch. Having that killer instinct at the end of games is something you can't teach, and he's been showing he's got that.

As of now he just needs to bring down the turnovers, which I think he'll do as he gets a better feel for the speed of the game.

Perhaps but we have also seen Ricky making great plays during important moments. I think Ricky's passing capabilities making an invaluable asset to any team. He makes the whole team compete instead of the usual "one-man-show".

well we've only seen them play 30 games...

right now i say Rubio is the better pure PG but we have to wait until Carmelo gets back

then i think we will see Linsanity for real

By far I chose Ricky Boi as the better player because he was much of more a contributor than a scorer unlike Lin-san, he's a scorer than a contributor. In fairness to Lin-san, we had seen him playing as a contributor against Sacramento which was a good sign that he could adjust from a prolific scorer to contributor but as far as his skill-is-concern he is a scorer. For my fav, Ricky boi, he's a visionary point guard - like a hawk - that he can sees his teammates movement, understood well of the set play, and knows-who-will-feed to score. Fancy passing was a big plus for Ricky and I could say that he can match the talent of Rajon Rondo soon.
