Now I've been thinking, Hiruzen was known as God of Shinobi due to mastering all justu konoha has. Obviously, this doesn't apply to special techs like Kekkei Genkai or Hiden. That would mean he had to master ALL five elements.

Then, in Shippuden, Kakashi said no recorded ninja in history has mastered all five elements.

This means Kishi is contradicting himself which brings up the question: Hype or Plot Hole?

If its hype, that means using "Hiruzen is the God of Shinobi so he must be strong" argument in VS threads are as relevant as Orognato's threads.

If its plot hole, then, well, you know, plot hole.

the point was to say that he was very good. Its very difficult to master all ninjutsu and element. kishi made a point that hizuren was very very good and thus can be considered godly

Since when can he use water?

I really don't see where the plot hole is. He only knows two elemental releases. He was known as a god among shinobi in his time sure, but he it because he was the most powerful ninja at the time. That doesn't mean that he has mastered all of the seals unlike what kakashi said about nobody being capable of doing so

OOO GOD,to be able to perform a mud style justu u need to have water & earth,just like wood is water & earth,like yamato can do water&earth..so also the 1st can do water& earth becoz he can do wood....to the lava u have to have fire & earth&waterU_Uit's the basic rule

Wrong. Mud is just an extension of earth. There's wind jutsu that kicks up dust, does that mean Dust Release is involved? No, earth style allows you to control earth and its density. You can make it into stone or mud, there's no extra element involved with mud

Earth style doesn't require water, only wood style does.
