Did Naruto ruin things for Lee & Neji?

I know...a thread which isn't about Sasuke...

So, when Naruto defeated Neji, he caused Neji to change his mind about many things.
The after effect of this though, was that Lee in turn stopped trying so hard to overcome Neji, who now begins to respect Lee and favour the ethics of hard work over destiny.

So Lee stops trying as hard to overcome his goal(Neji) and Neji feels ok with being second best to others, instead of thinking of the Hyuuga, as the Bee's Knees.

What do you think guys?

BTW, when Neji was a d*ck, Lee tried very hard to beat him and show him who's boss. Now though, he doesn't do this anymore. He just works with him not to get better than him.

Lee didn't stop trying hard? I don't think Neji was the only thing that motivated Lee to train incredibly hard.

I'm not saying that stopped being great.

I think that the impact of Naruto on those two,did slow them down though. Obv that & plot-no-jutsu.

They were better than Naruto & Sasuke at those stages in the story...how come they didn't maintain status...pi**es me off.

Also Neji is a Jonin and Lee is not. So overcoming Neji means Lee will have to become a Jonin, or Anbu.

I don't think Lee can become an ANBU. I feel like they do too much stuff that requires ninjutsu.

Same with Lee becoming a Sensei. He could never have his own team because he couldn't teach them anything other than taijutsu, and that would be a waste of 3 ninjas.

He could be a special teacher in advanced taijutsu but never have his own team.
