Both in their prime will access to all their techniques apart from genjutsu, as that kind of ensures Jiraiya's victory. Both have full info on each other.

Place: Destroyed Konoha

Both have huge amounts of chakra. 3rd held off an army of 10,000 for 3 days and nights, while Jiraiya is a Sannin with incredible powers.

Depends on if Jiraiya has any info on the third raikage.

He lived in the same time as him so if he knows not to get in close I would give it to Jiraiya, as he can just use the frog's genjutsu on him.

Plus if Jiraiya is to win this he needs to start of in Sage Mode i think....

No he is not as fast as A.

The third raikage was known for his endurance, not his speed.

Dodai was able to not only dodge him but also save Naruto, without the use of a ST jutsu, and he has nowhere near the reaction speed of Minato.

So I would wager that Jiraiya has enough speed and skill to stay alive until he gets into sage mode.

And if he gets into sage mode it is a guaranteed loss since Jiraiya can use that frog genjutsu which will paralyze the third raikage.

With any amount of info on his raiton armor, Jiraiya wins this.

Not only is he not getting in sm, he hasnt shown any technique that leads me to believe he can damage the 3rd.

If jiraiya doesnt start in sm, the 3rd wins with mid difficulty at best

Jiraiya getting into Sage Mode takes about 10 minutes. 3rd Raikage might not be as fast as A but he is close. Lightning Armour also activates Instantly. One 4 finger Hellstab and already Jiraiya has a hole in his heart.
Even if Jiraiya has Genjutsu he has to be in Sage Mode and it takes a few minutes to activate.

I don't think so, it takes him 2 or 3 minutes at most.

Secondly the third raikage is nowhere near as fast as the fourth. Dodai managed to not only dodge his attack, but counter it and save Naruto. Dodai is not anywhere near as fast as Jiraiya in SM.

Naruto, who is naturally slower than Jiraiya, was faster than the third raikage in SM, so obviously Jiraiya will be faster in SM than the third raikage.

Jiraiya has a ton of jutsus that he can do almost instantly, to protect himself.


The third raikage's speed is overrated, as is his ability to win battles.


If Jiraiya starts in SM, then it is a guaranteed win for him. If not then I'd give the third raikage the edge, but not too much. More like 60/40 in the third raikage's favor.

yeah no he wasnt. even KCM wasnt keeping up till naruto went into close combat in KCM. SM dodged the third when kabuto was intentionally not trying to kill him
