Itachi can only sustain susanoo for so long, against six path it's over kill against nagati himself then that would be hard to call.

Itachi is screwed unless he can catch Nagato (not his paths) in Tsukiyomi or his sealing sasuno sword.

Well I believe that itachi will win this pretty simble but don't think i'm saying that nagato is weak. BUt as we all no even though nagato is not crippled he is not like that fast and if itachi just uses amatarasu nagato won't be able to dodge or use shinra tensei fast enough, and when he gets hit even though he will use shinra tensei he will still have been burned out so after that It will be simble for itachi too just seal him or something else.

But could a genjutsu work on a path since nagato is not actually there and he can always revive a damaged body through one of the other paths he doesnt feel pain through a path and genjutsus have a limit even tsukuyomi the actual nagato is ages away transmitting chackra and itachi has no knowledge of the rinnegans power or the fact that nagato isnt even there and itachi cant catch all 6 paths in tsukuyomi at once the others would just attack him while his taking out 1 of the 6 paths

JIRAIYA got 3 pains in genjutsu , it didnt effect the others or nagato , rinnegan is a demi uchiha bloodline so it possesses similar abilities including genjutsu breaking and seeing chakra flow etc.

Itachi's Susanoo IS the perfect defence due to his items (Yata Mirror) and a brilliant offence due to the Sword of Tsokuka. As Itachi's chakra reserves are that big, I would give it to Nagato. Also, as Itachi doesnt have prior knowledge, it would take him some time to figure out the real Nagato is none of the Peins.

I give it to Itachi (very,very close) as hes shown to be one of the most intelligent characters, highly perceptive and very, very skillful. His fight against Sasuke was one of the best so far, and he didnt even exert himself much as he didnt want to hurt the brother hes been protecting for the last 10 years or so. The guy was near death (illness), half blind and still matched Sasuke without even trying particularly hard. Orochimaru himself stated Itachi was stronger than him and Itachi absolutely pwned Oro 8/10 years ago. Based on achievements, what we have seen, and guessing individuals' true power, I would say Itachi has the upper hand.

Although, Pein is shown to have the Rinnegan and massive chakra reserves (able to control 6 bodies etc..). He is able to use some of the tech the Sage of Six Paths Himself used, which is damn impressive in its own right. Also, Im not sure if Susanoo can defend against Pein's giant meteor move.

Ill allow nagato fans this for now. Itachi has shown enough to lose to nagato with high difficulty. However he is going to get more feats who ever he does face and with that ill mount a challenge on nb.
