Naruto doesn't deserve as much credit as before

I used to think Naruto obtained everything through hard work and sheer determination. Nothing was handed to him, he wasn't born a genius. Compared to Sasuke who had Uchiha blood and sharingan, he was always portrayed as the joe average who never gave up.

But then we find out, his dad was a Hokage, his mother was a former jinchuriki, his team leader was a student of the 4th Hokage, his teacher was a sanin...

Lineage is everything in Naruto. For example Lee and Naruto started off the same but no matter what Lee does, he can't do anything to surpass Naruto. People who don't have legendary parents or legendary teachers will never be better than the ones that do.

This is one of the worst threads I've seen since being on NB. I've negged you and you more than deserved it.

Naruto 'just' found out his parents were the 4th and Kushina, he didn't know that for his entire life and thought he was alone. He still made something of himself. He even beat Pain while not knowing this and achieved Sage Mode, which only Jiraiya has been seen to do.

nah, Naruto has been disadvantaged more than anyone else up to 12 years of age, apart from Lee. he achieved most of the things he did through hard work. even with the kyuubi, he didn't just open his hand and have a powerup fall right into it, he had to put some effort in. although he didn't have to train so much, it takes a lot of guts to face and make peace with the demon that's to blame for being ostracised from society.

anyway, Lee's goal is to become a great ninja despite his inability to use ninjutsu or genjutsu. Which he can achieve, despite being unable to defeat Naruto or Sasuke. He has a good chance to defeat Neji anyway. and Gai might not be a stellar sensei, but he was the only one who believed in Lee and treats him like a son. Lee can't ask for more than that.

anyway, there is a slight issue with the series though, after the pain arc it's been a lot of powerups without much training. everyone is taking sharingan eyes or hashirama's dna, or oro's dna, or the kyuubi's chakra etc. it's a bit tiring.

That's why I'm a fan of Minato because he has no lineage to fall back on. Everything he accomplished he did it with his own sheer determination.

Still Naruto did have to train for mostly everything he has so I wouldn't say he doesn't deserve as much credit.

parents? they weren't able to help naruto, they only saved him (minato restored the seal, kushina got him back to his senses)
jiraiya's training? you remember how hard he trained to get rasengan. being jiraiya's student doesn't help to learn things without working. do you think anybody could handle training under him?
kakashi? he isn't that special. asuma, guy, kurenai were also superb teachers. actually kakashi was teaching sasuke more than naruto.

I'm just saying because of Naruto's lineage he has more opportunities. Because his mother was from the Uzumaki clan he has more chakra so he can utilize training methods only for him. I like Lee, but he has reached his potential. Can't see him or Kiba or Tenten do anything more than what they are doing currently.
It's also strange Naruto can live that long without knowing who his parents are...adopted kids these days find out quicker and easier and they might not even have famous parents. I know the Third banned it and everything... but still...you'd think he would of found out one way or another.
