Naruto's Rasengan vs Sasuke's Chidori

It has been noted a few times that the Rasengan is superior to its counterpart, the Chidori, by Jiraiya, Kakashi but in one occasion didnt sasuke's chidori beat naruto's rasengan when they both use this sasuke came out on top(Valley of the End)
in another occasion AFTER sasuke fought danzo when they both use these they both went back..(sasuke's injuries weren't healed yet)

what do you guys think?

No1: Sasuke's Chidori didn't beat Naruto's Rasengan. Naruto just aimed for his forhead protector and took Sasuke's full force directly in the chest.
No2: It's hard to try and say which is better. Rasengan packs a bigger punch, while Chidori is a much more piercing technique,which is why it's also called the lightning cutter.
No3: Chidori is essentially Rasengan, but instead of it being rotating chakra, the chakra is simple mixed with lightning element and discharged. This result in a less stable and more chakra wasting attack but alsi has more of a piercing effect.
No4: Chidori wastes a lot of chakra and is unstable, so loses a lot of chakra and it's power when it's static. The chakra doesn't stay compressed.

So the answer is Rasengan is more powerful & less of a chakra waste.
Chidori is more piercing but wastes more power.

Very good point. But that doesn't mean the techniques are equal. Rather that the power behind them is equal and that comes down to the person using it.

Also, Naruto never goes in with intent to kill. So maybe he holds back.

Yea I never said dey were equal I remember them clashin 3 times twice at the final valley, Sasuke won the last clash an in shippuden they tied.

ye sasukes chidori beat narutos rasengan then because CS2 sasuke>one tailed cloak naruto .... but as soon as naruto gets a second tail his rasengan is leagues ahead
the injuries where his eyes and his other arm..... so it doesnt make a difference , and naruto always hold back for sasuke
and chidori is almost impossible to improve , a defencive jutsu and a stream of lightning chakra isnt really a improvement
but rasengan is so much stronger and more flexible

Jiraiya only meant that it was simpler to use.

Chidori requires seals.
Rasengan doesn't. Hence, it can be used at a moments notice

And Sasuke's Chidori has never beaten Naruto's Rasengan.
Every single time they've clashed, they've both been blown back equally. Twice at the Valley of the End and again during Team 7's reunion.

The only reason Sasuke came out on top at the end of the fight @ The Valley of the End was because Naruto was intentionally aiming to scratch Sasuke's headband to prove his worth while Sasuke was going to the kill. If Naruto went for Sasuke then it would have been a double KO.

Chidori isn't a Rasengan cloaked in lightning. Rasengan has a spinning motion whereas chidori does not

The entire principle behind both techniques is different so I don't even know why people are trying to compare the two in terms of strength.

The Chidori is like a knife. It pierces.
The Rasengan is like a hammer. It clobbers.

These weapons are both different but just as deadly. Either one of these two techniques could kill.

The Chidori has absolutely nothing to do with the Rasengan.

The Chidori is a combination of:
-Elemental manipulation by changing your chakra into Lighting Release
-Spatial manipulation by converting your Lightning natured chakra into electric current.

Yeah just double checked.

Chidori=elemental recomposition which is easier to manage.
Rasengan=Spatial recomposition which is harder to do.

Chidori is using the elemental nature and chakra and discharging it as to make a strong piercing attack,whereas the Rasengan keeps regular chakra rotating for a very strong attack but doesn't use elemental chakra.

So first comes Chidori, then you have Rasengan. Rasengan being the better and higher ranked of the two
