Question regarding nagato

okay since the jutsu kabuto used left all abilities intact, why didn't nagato use the revival technique to revive itachi on the final moments he had before he was sealed by itachis susanoo? i recall itachi saying " so you've regained consciousness"

actually it doesn't give up his life, he died at konoha when he revived everyone because he used to much chakra.
