As Itachi said, he failed when he tried to just handle Sasuke alone. Sasuke said that what he will bring about in the future is vastly different than what Itachi wanted. He doesn't care anymore about anything other than avenging him and the Uchiha name, even if that means fighting him

If sasuke fought itachi as an edo, sasuke would get raped, I don't care what anyone says. Itachi can't die anymore, his body will just regenerate, and I don't think sasuke knows any sealing jutsus strong enough to completely immobilize an edo. And that stupid prediction that sasuke stabs itachi with amaterasu and he will just burn forever is dumb. He would regenerate, it doesn't matter if its amaterasu. Plus, its not like itachi can't put out amaterasu's flames.

itachi is selfish and a hypocrite so he will force naruto to do all his dirty work rather than clean up the mess he created. itachi could have faced off against tobi with naruto and bee, THEN beat kabuto, but chose to go into the middle of nowhere alone. what could he possibly say to sasuke that would help? "im a zombie being manipulated"? "i tortured you three times therefore you should listen to me"? "i wont help you destroy konoha"? thatd just piss sasuke off more seeing itachi like that. hes too far gone to listen to anyone. naruto tried it like three times and he just didnt care.

if he forces itachi to regenerate, that would tell us that sasuke has surpassed him enough to "kill" him once.
