I think Muu wasn't alive in Jiraiya's time ,since Onoki was Tsuchikage for pretty long.

Muu is undetectable, its only because Gaara had the utmost perfect conditions to find him otherwise a surprise Jinton attack from behind and there's no recovering from that.

It senses chakra.....Muu can suppress his...which is why he is undetectable.

Well I was thinking, a Sage enhanced barrier should be even larger than the one he used before. It's also by touch if a remember correctly, which is a flaw in Muu's jutsu. It also lets him indicate attacks before they reach him, which means he has more time to react too >
With his speed there's a chance he can dodge it, especially considering Onoki and Muu had a jinton war where several were being thrown at each other. It'll probably be hard to get Muu with his sensory, but since Jiraiya has LOTS of attacks and strategies to use (multi task with Sage Toads like a baws) I think he could pull it off. Frog call, huge Rasengans, senbon hair and even Frog Song might come into play
