A Genjutsu from the 3 tomoe Sharingan would paralyze him instantly, one eye contact would end this battle. Genjutsus are faster than his summons, Itachis opponents are already in the beginning of the battle in a Genjutsu. If Nagato summons a creature, Itachi cast it in a Genjutsu. Nagato, who share his vision with his summon, will see the illusion Itachi cast on it.

And yes, Zetsu is a sensor but can't foresee attacks, that's not the ability of a sensor type. I have no desire to explain it, but read it on a wikia. He noticed how the air arround was changing because the heat of these flame provides pressure and heat in the surroundings - Zetsu also was hanging from the ceiling, he was close to the action. Sasuke also didn't sense a danger, he was responding to Itachis finger signs. Nagato is also not a sensor, he felt the pressure of Amaterasu like Zetsu felt how the air was changing, although Itachi didn't use it and hit Nagato later with one.

that is the most severe case of underestimation i have ever seen... nagato has a multiple bijuu level chakra pool , he would easily get out of 3 tomoe , and PAIN ARE CONTROLLED BY HIM AND CAN ACT ON THEIR OWN ACCORD , THEREFORE ITACHI IS SCREWED IF HE CASTS A GENJUTSU BECAUSE HE WOULD HAVE TO MOVE AND RELEASE THE GENJUTSU, amaterasu will be absorbed simples.

Your right i am a nagato fan but i dont let my so called fanboyism to blind me from facts. hmmmm lets see Rinnegan is the evolution of EMS so whos to say he cant break out of tskuyomi you cant prove he cant break it. Nagato already shown he can use some genjutsu. pretty much all of itachi's attacks will be countered by nagato. i see no reasonable explanation people give to how itachi will defeat nagato all i here is "tskuyomi". Which shows they have no reasonable facts to back it up

itachi did use amaterasu right after nagato said that he will use amaterasu.. its just that koto amatsukami countered the activation of MS, therefore preventing itachi from using amaterasu to naruto.

on zetsu's case, he completely failed to predict what itachi will do next he just sense the aura of itachi changing and zetsu's not even sure if he'll use amaterasu or not. right after that line of zetsu itachi didn't use amaterasu instead perform a handseal taht sasuke counters.
