he's a complete idiot in battles but went toe to toe with 4 talied naruto, killed the third, awarded the title of sannin when fighting hanzo and was supposed to be the next hokage after hiruzen? sounds like an idiot in battles to me U_U

He never used any complicated strategy during his battles, he was mainly relying on his supreme Kawarimi. When it comes to strategy during combat there are a lot of characters way smarter than him, Naruto being one of them. Oro could kill Hiruzen quite easily, yet he rather to play with him, which resulted with his arms being sealed.

because he doesn't use complicated strategies he's an idiot? like c'mon, everyone isn't a shikamaru or has to be as clever as naruto is. in mostly all his battles he's not the underdog so no need to devise plans, hide, deceive and all that. i'm not saying he any smarter than sasori either, both of them are intelligent shinobi but oro's wits can't be ignored or crapped on. he do let his pride & imagination run wild but every shinobi has a weakness.
