Gaara's Element

Ok so many people seem to think that because Gaara uses Sand which is closely related to Earth that he must be Earth Element type.

This is wrong.

Gaara's Element is Wind. Wind is strong over Lightning but weak against Fire.

Well. Again, hence why I am posting that Gaara has Wind Element. I think a lot of people actually didn't know that right off the bat.

It's not all that obvious to most. It's never really stated.

It was. His ability to manipulate sand is from shikaku. He still kept this ability after he got his beast ripped out of him. Besides he has used many wind techniques in the series

There are many reasons to assume Gaara is a WInd Element user but perhaps also has a strong affinity for the Earth Element.

Wind:
1: Comes from the Land of Wind.
2: Both Temari & Kankuro are Wind users.
3: He uses Wind style techniques as Shukaku.
4: It's the rarest & strongest element and as Gaara was made as a sort of Naruto counter-part, it makes sense that they would mirror each others elements.

Earth:
1: Cause he's badass with sand which comes from the earth. He also seems capable of manipulating the ground to a large degree. Even if it's just sand.

I think Kakashi but he may have said it was the rarest and not strongest.

Either way it has the most cutting power & precision of all Natures. Will just check gimme two seconds...brb

It hasn't ever been said about Kankuro, but it's reasonably safe to assume. The precision of his style of chakra threads makes it highly likely that it's wind nature. Also he is of the land of Wind.

It seems all 3 sand siblings are wind users. However I have no 100% proof of this. One second, lemme go beat it outta Kishi...lol

kakashi said wind was rare and great for battle nothing about being strongest tho. kankuro is a puppet master and has not been shown using any element yet.
