Im pretty sure he also read the tablet on the uchiha stone.
Besides the fact that he is the first ever non uchiha to awaken the ms, is annoying. As sasuke said, he has no right to brandish such eyes which do not belong to him.

Gaining the MS only shows his power and we never got any Uchiha wanabeness from him like we got from ORO and Danzo (though I still wouldn't call them uchiha wanabe more ike SO6P wanabe has they had senju cells)

danzo had senju cell and uchiha eyes but still did not get rinnegan.Similar Tobi had uchiha eyes and senju blood but still donot have rinnegan.If they wanted to get rinnegan directly they would

Actually gaining the ms has nothing to do with power/skill and everything to do with sacrifice. Kakashi most likely awakened the ms within obito's eyes, due to the contrast remorse he feels for what happened. That most certainly caused the awakening of his ms. I do agree that oro and danzo are another uchiha wanabe's, but those two have suffered enough from the uchiha. Its only fair to feel sorry for them xd

Getting the rinnegan isn't the only thing that makes one be in the same league has the sage otherwise Nagato and Tobi would be able to defeat Juubi but they can't.The SO6P had something more.
