Why do you think Nagato created the 6 paths of Pain? I've been thinking lately that perhaps it has something to do with the repercussions on his body, of the use of his rinnegans.

Remember when the rods went into his back due to him using Demonic Statue of the Outer Path to kill hanzou? That made him basically immobilised and he wasn't able to move freely.

That's a good point. But actually I've been thinking that perhaps his handicap came from using them.

He prolly just made the bodies for two reasons. 1. He was crippled during a fight of some kind. (which is the most likely) and 2. It reduces the risk of him dying to almost 0.

Konan tried to prevent him from summoning it. Which means he used it before that battle.
