@OP -> Kakashi was confronting the 5 bijuus only with a kunai in hand. Either he is so awesome that he can handle bijuus with a single butter knife and Kishi is changing the title to Kakashi Shippuuden, or he was just panic stricken and was grasping at that kunai like it was a holy rosary and praying to the Shinigami to spare his life.
I'm leaning towards option two.

He's my favourite character in Naruto, but I'm not as absent minded enough to think that he can handle one, let alone five bijuus, and live to tell the tale. :shrug:

2-3 Bijuudamas it's still impressing, a bijuudama is bigger than a susanoo or the black ball of chibaku tensei.Now we know what's the potential of his kamui .

I always thought that Kakashi was a strong shinobi, but not that much .
But the type that we see now really has nothing to do with Kakashi who fought pein, or trembling when he used his Kamui once ... : o

We can say that Kakashi has changed dramatically since that time ... for me, Kishi was standing there. Kakashi was supposed to have a single fault and full of qualities. His only fault was his low chakra.
Well here we are witnessing a Kakashi fighting since 2 days on high level, and then deliberately chooses to meet almost alone 6 unbridled bijuus !
Kakashi and he does not even flinch, like, so cool! Normally, any attack on these critters should be reduced to ashes!

So yes, before I said that Kakashi was lower than all the great shinobi or lower a bijuu ... but now I dare not make any prediction about him. Clearly, Kishi was the right one.

I say kakashi can hold his own against a bijuu (up to 7 tails)
meaning, that he can survive to tell the story but I doubt he can defeat one of them and just walk away from the battlefield
