Is Naruto getting too similar to DBZ?

Here, contain all the silly comparisons saying that Naruto is similar to DBZ. It's not, simple as.

1. People can destroy planets with a single finger in DBZ.

2. They CAN'T in Naruto.

3. What about Majiin Buu ripping apart the barrier of the hyperbolic time chamber or breaking through to the afterlife?

4. They are different and great shows, BUT in their OWN way!

I am going to add a poll to see what people think.

I think they are nothing alike and that people are making unfounded comparisons.

i totally agree with u. Kishi was inspired by DBZ however i don't think kishi would do a thing like that(copy DBZ)

Exactly, he is inspired by alot of Japanese culture, not to mention other Manga sources. He's read a hell of a lot.

I am currently watching dragonball z again and all I can say (and dont get me wrong - I like DBZ) it has almost no story - and this is the difference between those two. DBZ is great because of its fights but Naruto is great because of its story and it characters!

Kishi isn't that dumb^^ dbz is a hole other level in fighting compared to naruto but narutos character/story development is better IMO.

in DBZ era that kind of manga is the best and DBZ is the best of all in that manga era

It's nothing like dragon ball z ok I find it funny how goku's favorite dragon ball the four star is ironically in naruto how the four tail beast name is son goku . Or how anytime there's a perverted scene people start bleedin out there nose like dragon ball z or how the ultra rasengan is identical to the ultra spirit bomb. Well Vegita & Sasuke personality doesn't match up at all :shrug: or how Goku's & Naruto personal are real similar care-freeor how both of them can start glowing bright yellow when every they want in a orange suit :shrug: maybe i'm losing it

Shonen Jump is all fine and good.

What about worlwide sales of Manga volumes. Naruto is top of the pile for the planet at the moment. Not Japan. That's where the big bucks are.

That and having the best anime currently on TV...

it has some simillarity but I don't mind all to much how it progsesses now.
It's the story and characters that caught me, not the fighting scene. More crazy powers is a bit to much sometimes but anyway, as long as the story won't go crazy, I'm good.
