"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)

haha, ok, than you support the killing of homosexuals.. jesus says this too.. this cannot possibly be interpreted in any other way, and if you try too spin it, than you are jus a fool in denial..

I really hate it when they pick up chapters that only suit them. If the bible is the truth then everything should be done like it says in the book.

But Jesus said it too? Then it is the word of God and you should start killing homosexuals and sunday workers.

Ok it was old testament but there is extremely ridiculous orders in new testament also

"Exodus 31:15

'For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD; whoever does any work on the sabbath day shall surely be put to death."

When he said that as long as accept him as our Savior, and live our lives as Jesus lived his, thats all we need to do. Its not easy no body said it would be, but its worth it

thats the homosexual one i jus posted.. thats the old testament thoo, SOO here are some sections of the NT that say the OT stands

"It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid." (Luke 16:17 NAB)

JESUS said this one:
Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place." (Matthew 5:17 NAB)

so theres that.. and heres the death for people working on the sabbath:

The LORD then gave these further instructions to Moses: 'Tell the people of Israel to keep my Sabbath day, for the Sabbath is a sign of the covenant between me and you forever. It helps you to remember that I am the LORD, who makes you holy. Yes, keep the Sabbath day, for it is holy. Anyone who desecrates it must die; anyone who works on that day will be cut off from the community. Work six days only, but the seventh day must be a day of total rest. I repeat: Because the LORD considers it a holy day, anyone who works on the Sabbath must be put to death.' (Exodus 31:12-15 NLT)

That because it was a day of rest and reflection to honor what God did for them when he took them out of Egypt. Anyone that worked on that day was seen as not being thankful and going against God which is something you just don't do. But that was all rewritten when Jesus came he made it so it was alot simpler to get to heaven then what our ancestors had to do.

well, i jus refuted that with my posts about how the OT laws still stand..
heres a couple more:

"All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness..." (2 Timothy 3:16 NAB)

"Know this first of all, that there is no prophecy of scripture that is a matter of personal interpretation, for no prophecy ever came through human will; but rather human beings moved by the holy Spirit spoke under the influence of God." (2 Peter 20-21 NAB)

you should prolly re-read your bible dude..

Don't bite my head off or anything, but I'm going to tread shark infested waters with a sub machine gun and ask a couple of million dollar questions and say...

...what do atheists have to lose to believe in a religion? It's not as if you can say " Ha ha! I told you so!" if by some preposterous fluke that there isn't an afterlife/Lord Almighty.

By being a keen observer, I've also noticed that a huge number of atheists become atheists or agnostic because of one particular denomination:

The Catholic Church: I'm not trying to play the blame game here, but I've heard some wild stuff that goes on in this church. A large number of Catholic extremists scare people off because they say crazy stuff like "homosexuals are going straight to Hell if they don't renounce there ways." Also, a bunch of my friends who are atheists/agnostic said that they were brought up in a strict Catholic family.

Also number 2 question. Is it because you just want freedom in general from practicing any religious beliefs? I know I know, it's a chore and as a Christian myself I don't necessarily follow everything that the Bible says because I guess that's just the way I roll.

--------------------------

I guess that's all I wanted to say for now.

Thoughts? Discuss. (Keep it clean though so this thread doesn't get closed)

I don't think their is anything I could lose that would make me religious, on the other hand if I was presented with a god that I could see, feel, hear, touch who wasn't a psycho and Actually wanted peace for all mankind without hate for someone who didn't follow and worship him relentlessly, I would follow him. But until a "God" can be shown and proved outside of a old book and a bunch of people born thousands of years after the person they worship I really don't see a reason to believe in anything the church (of any kind) says because to me everyone from the local pastor to the pope himself is talking out their ass when they say they know the will of god or what he did at the dawn of time.

so now the only thing you have to do to be save is accept him as your lord and savior

Alright this the last thing I'm going to post for now because Its 5:30 in the morning and I'm starting to find it hard to think let alone type responses. Like I said before at the time it was written it was a sin punishable by death for a man to have *** with a man. Which brings me to the next thing John 8 3:11
"The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group 4 and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?" 6 They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, "If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." 8 Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" 11 "No one, sir," she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin.""

As in the the one Jesus said Jesus answers it in full he came to fulfill, and he did so we won't have to, because we couldn't even if we wanted to.

As for the sabbath day i already answered that

nice talking to you guys have a nice day

Ah, loophole. So say I accept Jesus as my lord and savior but don't follow Anything he says or ever go to church or support creationism or whatever else, I still go to heaven right? Doesn't that kind of make the rest of the religion a waste of time? Not being sarcastic or mean spirited either.

im glad this is your last post because quite frankly you make no sense wat so ever... "at the time it was written it was a sin"?? when does a sin not become a sin anymore? thats where i stopped reading cause it was apparent the rest wasnt gonna make any sense either.. im not trying too insult you or make you look dumb, i jus dont think you should talk on matters of faith anymore to people with no faith because your horrible at it.. there are religious people that i have argued with that actually had some really good, thought provoking points.. i jus havent seen a glimpse of that from you..
