Why are you atheists/agnostics
I am Christian. I hope that this first statement doesn't negate my opinion.
Second, I believe that people are atheists/agnostics for 6 reasons.
1. They have no physical evidence, so they do not care.
2. They see controversy and hypocrisy in the believers, so they reject all beliefs.
3. They don't understand and can't defend their beliefs, so they "leave".
4. They can't abide by moral standards set by their religion, [whether it is possible or by refusal] so they deny the existence of the deity/deities that composed them.
5. They are confused by which God or gods is exclusively the right one, so they hold to what is known as universal-agnosticism. Belief in all gods.
6. They are convinced that the existence of God or gods is impossible.
Personally, I think people are just too lazy or ignorant to study things out and develop strong opinions for themselves. Believing in something doesn't make you the smartest person in the world. The same could be said for the atheist/agnostic. People seem to forget that IF a God exists, then there is purpose and we are called to live by it. I want to know if there was a God or not, regardless of whether or not I would be able to comprehend him and his purpose. There is so much to be discovered about religion and the world, people need to get educated on it. I don't care much for force-feeding an atheist, but I love to talk with my friends and family about this type of stuff.
