Can the tailed beasts be killed?

We all know that the tailed beast's host can be killed, but what about the beast itself? I'll probably get a response saying "don't you think if they could be killed, someone would have", well, what if they were just too strong to kill? I'm wondering if it's physically possible for one to be killed.

Theoretically , Unless you can seal all their chakra at once, they can't be rid off

no I was thinking more along the lines of "haven't I seen this thread before"?

I believe as long as there are people in the world there will be bijuus the best thing to do would to seal them and that's not even guaranteed..also they have been used as weapons why would someone want to get rid of such powerful weapons?...

yeah i think they can be killed. Also its not like people would want to kill them. The bijuu was valuable weapons for the villages.

The tailed beast can die, but they "respawn" after a month, this fact was stated when Raikage and Tsunade met up with Naruto and Kirabi. Raikage wanted to kill naruto to delay the Akatsuki's plans but Tsunade wouldn't let him, then all that drama happened with Bee saying that he could easily die for the same cause..
