[Discussion] More Rinnegan users?

The only characters we know that awakened the Rinnegan were SO6Ps, possibly the Elder son, and Madara. Now with Sage + son being dead for thousands of years I doubt their eyes were somehow "preserved". So with Madara being the recent one to awaken Rinnegan, how does Tobi have like 6+ of them? Is it possible to clone the eyes and keep their power? Could Nagato have awakened more by transfering his power into 6 different bodies? Plot-hole?
Please enlighten me

Ps:Forgot to include that the best conclusion is the paths having a shared vision, but could there be another possibility?

If it's the jins, the paths allow the main user to created a shared vision and shared powers.

I'm sure it has something to do with one of the Rinnegan abilities along with the shared vision...that may also be the reason we see a sharingan too.

But the most equivalent explaination by far is cloning as you stated,..
DNA is available,and there are various methods of cloning in "Naruto",..
