There have always been certain things that dwell in my mind. I've thought to myself, "What does roleplay mean to me? Why do I love it so much and why do I always look forward to it being apart of my daily life?" In the few days that I've been here I've met a lot of awesome people and have been asked many things. So in gratitude and in curiosity I have made this thread.
To begin, allow me to tell what roleplay is in my opinion. Roleplay has many forms from actors in a movie to people like me who use text based rp online. Though a lot of rp is based on fighting instead of just storyline, it's not about proving who is better. Roleplay is for people to have fun by expressing themselves through their creativity. It is an art not a tool and just like in music, images, poetry and all other arts, rp is amazing. By making my own character and not only having him be able to adapt to the realm he is set in but also making him unique and special in his own way brings me joy. If you hadn't noticed yet mine and my rpc's goal is to become a legend on here. I don't desire everyone to go around and say, "Don't mess with Yukio he's tough. He even beat that one dude!" My ambition is to have people on NB say, "Oh yeah I know Yukio. Man he is something else. I've never seen anyone like him before, just the way he rp's is breathe taking." I didn't come to the base to beat the best rp'ers here. I came in search of something new and NB is far unique to most rp sites I have been apart of in the past. To be honest I cannot think of words to describe my excitement when I found out about this site and looked into it. And to have the people so far come up and take interest in me humbles me to no end. I have a long way to go but I know that one day I will reach my goal just as I always have. So in a nutshell to me roleplay is something that I do for fun while trying to get others to acknowledge my efforts. If there is one thing I have learned in roleplay it is this:
Anyone can flex their muscles and swing their fists. Its not hard to win a DM and kill another rpc. However, killing your opponent in such a way that its sheer grace and magnificence leaves all the readers in awe. Well, let's just say that's a whole other story.
Now of course I know I may not be the only one that thinks this way which leads me to ask you the same question I just answered.
"What does roleplay mean to you?"
Is it an escape? A pass time? I don't care what the answer is I just want to know. As much as I desire for people to know my name on here I also want to know the people that surround me here. Let your creativity unleash and show me what it is that makes you who you are.
If you have actually read all this then congrats. I know I can babble for a while and this was probably a little much to read but when I get to talking about certain things I can't seem to stop myself. xD
Also, I want to give a quick thanks to all the people on here that inspired me so far to make this thread and have kept me logging into the base in the short time that I've been here.
