Konan is so underrated

Every time I see a VS. thread with Konan in it, people almost always say that she dies instantly, or she's outclassed or something. I think the reason she's so underrated is that Kishi pulled a Plot no Jutsu on her to make her seem weak. Konan had so much more potential, but the only times we ever see her fight were (I put them in spoilers so as not to ruin the plot for anyone who hasn't seen it yet)

Jiraiya infiltrates Amegakure - He and Konan fight briefly, she has several opportunities to kill him, and she even could have if Jiraiya didn't use that oil technique and if Animal Path didn't arrive in time. Her Paper Ninjutsu was obviously overpowering Jiraiya's Fire Style technique.

Aburame clan vs. Konan - Another brief, shining moment for Konan, during the Invasion of Pain arc. She basically makes a ****ton of paper clones out of explosive tags and sends them flying at Shino and his family. That is pretty cool, if you ask me.

Konan vs. Tobi - This fight always made me sad because, well, it was her last. She put up a damned good fight against Tobi. If he didn't use Izanagi, he would have died. Come on! An attack that basically sets off a bunch of explosive tags for ten minutes? What's not to like about her?

That final fight is why I think everyone underrates Konan, because Tobi bullshitted his way out of it. If things turned out differently, or if we didn't even take it into account, I think Konan would be a bit more appreciated.

What do you guys think? Can you provide any other examples of Konan's hidden potential?

Konan is beast, underrating her would be foolish. The fact that she studied Madara and set up that Jutsu just for him puts her at the top of the list of High ranking Ninja.

The problems at hand are: screen time and hating/fanboyism.

Remove hating/fanboyism and analyse the screen time using a little of common sense and you have a more accurate evaluation of a character.

She did well against Tobi. Some will say that she prepared the terrain and if it wasn't for that bla bla bla... It's called strategy and we must take that into account... and of course, there's always plot no jutsu. We can't just ignore that.
But we can look past that!
So yeah, she is quite a great shinobi!

EDIT: the underrating/overrating seems to come from very few opinions, but we, humans, seem to take those very little opinions to serious and make'em more than they really are.​
