Itachi looks bad-ass when he's fighting alongside the good guys. Not as bad-ass as when he's evil, but meh...

It's nice to have a character that looks evil but isn't.

I liked Itachi alot more when he was a bad guy. Then Kishi had to go and completely retcon the whole thing and make Itachi good. Anybody with a brain would know that it was a total retcon on Kishi's part. Still I wish he was bad again, but sadly that's not going to happen.

The entire shishui incident was Fked up

A ninja with his strength found drowned in a river , with NO signs of battle anywhere? ,

Him not killing Kakashi , and kakashi asking why,

Then in early episodes of shippuden, he smiled at naruto's progress, Kishi had his character planned out tbh

the differences are between those 2 that aizen told everyone what he was planning and it was just a straight line about how it would end. Itachi's case is that he made his debute as badguy as the person who killed his entire clan and was a missing-nin and later one was declared innocent and did all just to prevent war and more chaos. Even helping naruto and bee around this time ? I think your question is impossible. I'd expect more of any other goodguy instead of itachi betraying them at this moment.
