Gaara's Sand-How strong is it now?

I 1st want to point out that Gaara is my favourite character in Naruto but that I am in no way a fanboy of his. I am not part of any Gaara clubs nor will I defend him without good reason. I will admit if he is out of his depth. Do please read before posting. And don't just flame nonsense.

But I was just reading Naruto issue 50 and saw that Gaara easily blocks A,who is fully charged and aiming to kill Sasuke with the Guilloting Drop and also blocks Sasuke's Enton spikes.
He doesn't break a sweat, he isn't using an enhanced defensive technique like Shukaku's shield and yet he stops them both. Then goes on to defend all the people in the room with the sand and block Sasuke's Amaterasu/Enton. And even stops the rubble/debree from the building which Sasuke attacks, without so much as a peep. Not to mention catching Madara's Meteor, though that was also thanks to Oonoki.

The only times I have seen something(lately) get past his defence, was when the 2nd Mizukage used his Oil style water which is Gaara's weakness anyway.
And of course Madara's Susanoo used the Yasaka's Magatama which got through, but that wasn't his sand, it was from the ground,thus weaker.

The only other thing I've seen block A when fully charged, is Madara's Susanoo or Naruto in Kyuubi cloak mode, who used two arms and still got hurt.

Does anyone have any good examples of someone getting through Gaara's defence recently?

Bare in mind that Madara's Susanoo only hit regular sand, not Gaara's special Chakra infused sand which is what I'm talking about.

Susanoo is stronger yes but it can't last as long. Also, the user needs to activate Susanoo, Gaara's sand is auto-matic.

What I would say though, is that A was able to break Sasuke's Susanoo here but wasn't able to break through Gaara's sand.

I rate Susanoo as stronger than Gaara's sand but not better.

No1: Gaara's sand defense is from Gaara's mother. Not Shukaku, so small Naruto fail there dude. For a guy with great debating skill and knowledge, I'm surprised.
No2: Not over-rating him, I am using Naruto references which happened. I am not making anything up.

While I agree that speed is the way round Gaara's sand. He can,at the expense of a lot of chakra, use his sand armour to avoid most of the damage. Or his sand shell & spikes.

sussano is stronger yes but not better cause of chkra I agree but in terms of defense and rate of survival sussano is better

I agree with many thing you said, but Sasuke was the one who guarded himself from Gaara's sand with Amaterasu. Gaara attacked him, and Sasuke used his enton defense. Then he said something along the lines of: ''I cant believe i was forced to use my enton''

And yes, Gaara's sand stopped the Raikage's guillotine drop, which is why i believe that Sasuke would have defeated the Raikage in that fight. If Gaara stop it with a tiny amount of sand, Susanoo would have too.

Could be that the translations I've read are wrong, but I don't think they are. If you think for a moment; How is Gaara's sand fast enough to react and block Amaterasu, when it has been outpaced by genin Lee, genin sasuke and even deidara's bombs?

Fully agree that it was outclassed by them. This is why I am saying that it has improved so much.
Lee & Sasuke were using speed granted by the 8-gates technique and reverse lotus, very highly skilled techniques indeed and supremely advanced Taijutsu.

Do just double check though. Cause it is also possible, although unlikely, that the officially released books had been printed incorrectly and that the anime didn't stick to the script.

Quickly watch this from 6:00 mins onward. You'll see.
