Can Neji break through shadows???

Looking back on Neji's fight against Kidomaru I came encountered with the question: Can Neji break trough Shikamaru's shadows just as easily as he did with Kidomaru's webs???

I dont belive so, i could be wrong but i think once shikamaru has his posession jutsu on him the he cant control his body. But I think the incident with Garra is different because Garra was using his sand and not his actual body. And since Neji uses his body for his techniques i dont belive he could do it.

another thing you might want to consider is that the webs were solid, shadows arent. how would you "break through" shadows?

I think he could break free of shikamuaru shadow jutsu for a few reasons...
1: With the byakugan Neji has x-ray telescope vision which would allow his to see the shadow being manipulated by shikamuaru's charka...
2: If he was caught with the shadow jutsu he could release chakra from his body creating a large source of light disolving the shadow...

When one emits a large amount of charka from their body an aura forms around them...
The shadow become solid when manipulated by charka... anything being manipulated by charka can be detected by the byakugan...

Kidomaru's webs were physical objects that had chakra flowing through them. That's why Neji was able to cut through them.


Shikamaru's shadows are not physical objects. They're shadows. You can't cut them or touch them because...they're shadows. The only way to resist them is to overwhelm with brute force like Tayuya was able to do

Maybe but I doubt it, once he has been outsmarted its over for him unless shikamaru loses chakra. Or if he so strong. Remember the episode with this two sumos?

Of course. They were said to have more brute strength than the Sanin. I doubt Neji has such strength.

Thank you, you cannot break something that isnt solid. Shadows are simply the absence of light. They can be manipulated, yes, but that does not make them a form of matter. Absence of light does not equal solid matter.
