Well i believe kakashi is smarter both in a fight and planing but not for your reasons. well i do agree itachi has stronger jutsu.

I'm sorry but that line of thought isn't enough...Itachi comes from a powerful bloodline while Kakashi comes from a nothing bloodline. In truth Kakashi has been forced to do much more to reach his level than Itachi who was gifted with the strength/blood from the Uchiha. If Itachi and Kakashi switched places then Itachi wouldn't be nearly as powerful as he is now and maybe not even be as strong as Kakashi is at this point.

itachi was gifted with sharingan...part 1 kakashi could NOT keep up with his handseal speed and foot speed... that has nothing to do with ihm being a uchiha , he was out skilled by a younger opponent

I agree as well. Kakashi had to rely on his own skills until he got his sharingan. Even then he was still hailed as a genuis.
