Seems reasonable to me but if that's the case I wish they weren't just getting tied up with robe and leaving us to the assumption that the rope has special chakra or something to it lol

Rope Escape Technique would not be a great choice to use against Sasuke's Katon releases. Or A's Lightning Armor. Or Edo Tensei.
