Yeah, everyone has haki in them, but I don't think its ever stated that you die if you lose it, use it all up, or don't have any haki.

With ki and chakra, its stated that if you have zero, then you are dead.

Without haki, whitebeard will just be a regular human but he will still be alive, whereas without ki or chakra broly and the third can't live.
