COMPLETLY dissagree i like hinata more she appreciates naruto and she did from the day they met she doesent reject him or ignore him and you said "during the time when Hinata fought pain
what happened after that, that's right she almost died and how dare a common hyuuga stand in the way of the new sage of 6 paths, at least Sakura knew to stay out of the way." well mr heartless if she dident do that and naruto died where would we be ... probly watchin bleach or one peace and also if she dident do that naruto would have never met his dad they wouldent have had the conversation they did and we would all not have info on Minato!s personality or what kind of father he was . personaly i think hinata is better .granted sakura may be the better fighter because of her super strength if she wasent trained by tsunade hinatas BL-trait would have dominated sakura .face it as much as we love sakura she has no jutsu or special ability other than super strength

Hinata may have liked Naruto from the beginning but did she ever lend a hand to support Naruto? the answer is no. I could accuse Hinata of riding the bandwagon of Narutos sudden fame because thats when she openly started to support Naruto.
Though Hinata isn't ugly, Sakura looks better

The only time Hinata ever did anything reckless was try to stop Pein and she did it out of love....Sakura on the other hand blew herself up when Sasori tried to poison her and tried to stop Naruto when he went into the 4 tailed mode and she did alot more........so if the only reason you say Hinata's reckless was because of that little act of bravery when she tried to save Naruto even though she knew it was a lost cause, then I say yes she is reckless.

As a ninja and potential then yeah I'd have to go with Sakura only because she spent the over 2 years training personally under one of the legendary Sannin and current hokage...where as Hinata's teachers to whom she's trained under don't even compare by a long shot
also Sakura's been compared to and often mentioned as already on the path to surpassing Tsunade someday...Hinata's never gotten such praise or comparison in the manga yet
and Sakura defeated, or helped defeat an S-rank missing nin and Atakusuki member Sasori...Hinata hasn't been apart of any such victory to her name
But as a person and who I think Naruto should be with its Hinata all the way. No offense to Sakura, but all her affection has been reserved primarily to Sasuke, all the while ignored the one who really cared for her more than anything, who was Naruto. Where as Hinata's always been there willing to risk it all, expulssion for both her and her entire team from the chunin exams for Naruto. And she even made the ultimate sacrifice, her life to protect him from a foe she knew she didn't stand a chance against but despite all odds put all that aside to be there for Naruto. He deserves that. Hinata, Hinata all the way
